Apple MacBook Pro Touchscreen Launched: OLED PROLED XDR, Price in India, Specs and Release Date
Apple has launched its first touchscreen MacBook Pro with a tandem OLED 'PROLED XDR' display, Dynamic Island and M5 Pro/M5 Max chips. 14-inch from $2,899, 16-inch from $3,399; India price reported from ₹3.49 lakh. Ships 6 November.

Apple MacBook Pro touchscreen is finally here. At its "Pro and Tell" event in Los Angeles on 28 October 2026, Apple launched the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, the first Mac ever with a touchscreen. It is the biggest MacBook Pro redesign since 2021, and a big U-turn for Apple, which said no to touchscreen Macs for more than 15 years.
Apple touchscreen MacBook Pro: key specs
- Display: tandem OLED "PROLED XDR" touchscreen, 10–120Hz adaptive refresh, up to 2,000 nits peak brightness, 10,000,000:1 contrast. The touch sensor sits inside the panel to cut lag, and a stronger hinge stops the screen wobbling when you tap it.
- Dynamic Island: the notch is gone. A pill-shaped Dynamic Island, like the iPhone's, holds the 12MP Center Stage camera.
- Chips: M5 Pro and M5 Max (not the new M6), with 24GB to 128GB RAM and up to 16TB SSD.
- Design: thinner by up to about 1 mm; the 14-inch weighs about 3 pounds (≈1.36 kg). The Apple logo on the lid glows again, like old MacBooks.
- Ports: three Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, SDXC card slot, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0.
- Sizes and colours: 14-inch and 16-inch, in Space Black and Silver.

Release date
Pre-orders opened on 28 October. The new MacBook Pro goes on sale on Friday, 6 November 2026.
Why it matters
Windows laptops have had OLED touchscreens for years. Apple now has its own answer, aimed at creators and professionals. It is also expensive: it costs much more than the regular non-touch MacBook Pro, which Apple still sells.
