Temple, the wearable from Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal, is now taking pre-orders, starting with the people who joined its early access list. Everyone else gets their turn on November 1.

"Check your mailbox"

Goyal announced it on X on October 26, 2026 at 5:52 PM:

"We are now taking pre-orders from everyone who signed up for early access over the last few months. Check your mailbox for more. Everyone else, download the @temple app from the app stores, save your carts and get ready for pre-orders on Nov 1."

So early access members order first, through the invite in their email. Wider pre-orders open on November 1 in the Temple app.

What it costs

Early access invitations list the device at ₹85,000, India Today and Mint reported. Mint says the price reportedly includes a lifetime subscription. Temple has not yet announced public pricing, and India Today advises buyers to wait for it before ordering.

Made to order

Each Temple is hand-made to order and delivered within three months of purchase, Goyal said on X on October 21. Moneycontrol reported that shipments are set to begin in early 2027. The company has not said how many units the first batch will have.

Asked whether this was about inventory or quality, Goyal said it was about "quality control and also making sure we serve each customer well", Mint reported.

What Temple does

Temple is a small, pill-shaped device worn on the temple, the side of the head between the forehead and the ear, not on the wrist. It uses optical sensors to track changes in blood flow to the brain, which the company calls BrainFlow.

It also gives an Entropy score from 1 to 250, meant to show physiological strain. Sleep, exercise, stress and caffeine can move it.

The device sticks to the skin with single-use adhesive tapes called Grips. According to Goyal, you can run, swim, shower and use a sauna with it on, but not scuba dive. Temple is meant for wellness and research, not medical diagnosis.

It comes in six colours: True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk. The last three are limited editions.

The money behind it

Goyal stepped down as CEO of Zomato and its parent Eternal in January 2026, and that month he wore Temple on Raj Shamani's podcast. In February, Temple raised $54 million in a friends-and-family round at a post-money valuation of about $190 million, TechCrunch reported. Goyal led the round, followed by Steadview Capital, with Peak XV Partners, InfoEdge Ventures and Dharana Capital also investing. Angels include Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Kunal Shah, and Nithin and Nikhil Kamath.
